Weather Report or How Are We Doing?

As a class, I give high marks to the way you're tackling this assignment. With one or two exceptions, all of you are choosing to engage in a class dialogue over simply meeting the requirements of the syllabus. We'll all emerge richer for your participation.

Your insights and perspectives are thought provoking. Among the many lines of discussion:

1. The interconnection between work and personal happiness. They have strong impacts on one another

2. The consideration of emotional vs. physical wants/needs

3. The way sharing of responsibility leads to meets one's own need for power

4. The power we give to our supervisors and coworkers to either recognize efforts or disrespect our work and how that frustrates our need for belonging.

Adding media to your blog

Interesting options to upload images from other sites on the web to your blog. Instead of something ridiculous like cat-person humor. Perhaps during disaster management, you will find yourself uploading tracking diagrams, spreadsheets, contact information for public and media use?

Calm between the storms

I am having varying degrees of understanding and ease with this blogging exercise. Hooray that we're almost all up and running. Frustrating that the inter-networking and updating aren't as smooth as we would like.

You are making some excellent, mind-opening statements about IPOH. I do believe we may have to call it "Riding the Magic Bus" after Chris' comments.

One of my requirements for education, my own and that of others, is that I be given new perspectives and challenged frequently to look at my beliefs to see if they still hold true for me. Rubbing up against one anothers' world views is a compelling way to constantly revise your truths.

In disaster situations, the responses needed can change lightening quick. If you're not able to start at zero each time and check against what you know, you're at risk of driving the "bus" down the wrong road entirely. I'm grateful for the opportunity to fend of brain calcification.
